I got my One+ 8 on 2021. Best phone I've had so far. Still working fine, though I just upgraded to OnePlus 12. The problem I had with my One+ 8 was the charging port damage from usage while charging. In my opinion it is a bit fragile so I don't recommend using it while charging. Then it is the battery life. It is quite good for everyday activities, however if you are going on a trip and you are gonna use the navigation or internet and all that, if you start your trip at 8 AM, it will die by 2-4 PM, after almost 4 years, which is pretty good, but trips are longer than that so I have had issues during trips the last year. I have never had any problem with the physical toggle that switches the sound on/off/vibrate. I have had my phone falling a few times from my hand without a case, and it managed to get out of safe. However 2 months ago I had it hit a furniture right behind the volume buttons. In 2 months the volume buttons degenerated and now they don't work no more. I am adjusting the volume using an app to trigger the volume popup. The phone is still quite fast, however it lags sometimes. However it gives you a pleasant experience when youre using it without a case. I said I switched to OnePlus 12 Flowy Emerald which in my opinion is the best looking phone ever produced. But in hand, no phone ever compares to OnePlus 8, its light and slim and the edges are perfectly curved. I have had issues with charging my OnePlus 8 outdoors. I always bring the charger and the cable with me. Warp charging is 35 Watts and it requires 35 only. You can't charge it in usb sockets, you will need your charger with you. I will have the same issue with OnePlus 12 because it takes 100 Watts. Hope I didn't forget to mention anything.

Awesome camera, clear audio in regular calls or speaker, and really good processing speed if you don't have 100 apps open. I am not a fan of the screen wrapping around to the side. I haven't found a way to hold it comfortably without a finger touching the edge of the screen and interfering. Aside from that, it's by far my favorite phone I've ever had.

I have been using a OnePlus 8 for well over a year now and the battery lasts at least a day but sometimes 2. I use my phone about 3 hours a day for games like clash of clans or fallout shelter, watching YouTube, and using Snapchat, and searching the web. The battery still lasts well. And everything is working great. I would get one

for sure, i am in my 3rd year and the device has never let me down.... only downside I feel is the OS now little away from stock android, but it is nit-picking as even the new OS is very smooth and yes colorful... i have been using Oneplus phones since oneplus 1 and always had to come back on Oneplus if sticking to android, used Samsung twice but had to leave them due to slowness they get after couple of years... so I feel oneplus 8 is still capable device in 2023... hope it helps
