The keyboard frame is nicely made and looks very similar to the bottom part but it is not metal!

This laptop is a great value. Perfect if you need high performance at a good price. The weaknesses are probably not important for -most- people. The Thinkbook 15p G2 gets the important things right - good port options including LAN port, HDMI & Thunderbolt 4; upgradeable RAM & two SSD slots; good processor & graphics etc. And the whole case is actually aluminium, not just the display lid. So the display lid is brushed in two tones. The keyboard frame and bottom just have the same brushed tone as the bottom part of the display lid.

Sorry to hear that. :( Is the noise still an issue? Did you sell the laptop?

I own ryzen 5600 model, after 3 months fan noise is SO ANNOYING that I consider to sell it. Few bios updates did nothing, no windows settings that can turn fan off, it is alwasy on and sound is modulating making you go nuts after 30 minutes. No matter how fast it is and how light when you cant use it due to noise. Please check other thinkbook reviews before you buy one. Really I regret it now. I own HP 14" with ryzen pro 16 cores one zen2 model and fan works only with high load.

Maybe good enough for image editors but not good for 3D.

Quote from: duzenko on January 15, 2022, 11:16:21 Quote from: duzenko on January 15, 2022, 11:16:21 Last year there were more than a dozen non-gaming laptops with H-CPU, many of which were from Lenovo.

Lenovo shoots itself in the leg again with soldered RAM. In a few months we'll hear about 'insane discounts' on this model because, naturally, it will undersell Also, are we ever going to see an H-series CPU in a non-gaming laptop?

As already pointed out, it's amazing how many times this review mentions "1920x1080 16:9" even though it's evident from the photos this is 16:10, and indeed the "LatencyMon YouTube 4K" screenshot is 1920x1200. This doesn't give me much confidence in the review, if you can't even get the screen's aspect ratio and resolution right.

Good article and the laptop seems good too. The PSREF website does list a different display for the laptop though. A 1920x1200 16:10 WUXGA panel with a 1000:1 contrast. I can understand that this is probably too little, too late for the article. I'm surprised the contrast is twice as good as they specified.
