I've been having a great experience with the 17 Pro coming from the 13 so far. I've been using it for a month now. It seems to be almost the same as the 16 Pro, so I'd only recommend to upgrade if you're on a base iPhone 15 or older, or pro iPhone 14 Pro or older. The camera is stunning, screen is amazing, performance is overkill, and battery will last a day or day and a half. Only concern is the build quality as the phone is VERY fragile and gets dented and scratched very easily. Make sure to get a case right away.

The iPhone 17 Pro is Apple's most utilitarian flagship yet, defined by a shift to function over form. The move from titanium to a new aluminum frame and the prominent camera array facilitate a major internal redesign focused on performance, specifically a vapor chamber for class-leading thermal management which delivers 40% better sustained performance from the A19 Pro chip under heavy load. This power is matched by an exceptional Super Retina XDR display that now peaks at a searing 3,000 nits with an anti-reflective coating, making it the most visible screen outdoors. The camera system also sees substantial, hardware-backed changes: all three rear lenses are now 48MP Fusion units, highlighted by a new 4× optical telephoto with a larger sensor for superior portraits, and an innovative processing pipeline extending the reach to a usable 8× optical-quality zoom. While the design is heavier and more industrial than its predecessors and iOS 26's AI features remain incremental, the 17 Pro's tangible gains in cooling, charging (35W), and zoom versatility make it the rare year-over-year upgrade that feels genuinely substantial, especially for professionals and gamers who push their devices to the limit.
